Getting Ready for Summer
Summer is perhaps the best time for any trip and this is the reason why your travel wallet should be more than ready during this time of the year. Not only is the weather very favorable for outdoor activities and water sports during summer, your kids and friends would also be available because classes are over. The first thing that your family does especially when summer is fast approaching is to plan where to spend this bright and sunny holiday.
Getting Ready for the Beach
Usually, the beach is the first – and sometimes the only – choice. Rates of resorts would usually skyrocket during summer so knowing in advance where you would go swimming will truly enable you to save on your expenses. Summer apparel also gets more expensive if you buy them during summer. So try to purchase them ahead of time. They say the best time to buy those skimpy bathing suits, useful sun block lotions, and trendy pair of sunglasses is during Christmas!
Thus, to ensure that you are effective in budgeting for your summer expenses, plan it ahead of time. Aside from the obvious savings on costs for early booking, you can also prepare the non-monetary side of the plan. You can file for a leave in advance and turnover your responsibilities at the office early on so you won’t be bothered by pesky office calls when you’re already having fun skinny dippin’ in the beach.
Enrolling in Summer Classes
For some, summer is the time to enrol in special courses. If you have kids, you can send them to sports clinics, dance lessons or even art courses. This is probably the best way that they can spend their free time. Yes, you may be taking out your Visa’s or MasterCard’s from your credit card wallet but the return on investment is fairly high. Not only will child or niece/nephew learn a new skill, but they’ll also get to know other people. After all, learning, more often than not, requires a fair amount of investment.
If you can take a long vacation from the office, go find yourself something new to learn. Yoga classes don’t have to done on successive days so perhaps painting will be among your choices. If you’re musically inclined, take guitar lessons, perhaps. This is a relatively easy skill to learn.
Preparing for Reunions
Summer is the next best time – second to Christmas – to have reunions. So if you have friends/classmates who are already settling in other countries, convince them to come home during summer. This way, it will be easier for you to gather your high school classmates and friends.
Even family reunions are best done during summer. Again, this is because kids won’t have classes so it’s easier for your siblings, cousins or grandparents to leave home and gather with other family members. Just make sure that your checkbook wallet is ready – with ample savings in the bank of course – as you’ll definitely be spending tons of money for food and merriment.
There are of course many other things that you can do for summer. Whatever you do, remember to have fun and be merry. This is the only way where you can justify the "sunny-ness" of this time of the year.
